Geneva Elevator o Philip Butler - "After Nature" - 09/09/2015.

downarrow50x1

Philip Butler was a student of Colin McCahon and is an established New Zealand painter, and former secondary school teacher of Art and Art History. Philip has arrived from England at eight years old and has travelled through Europe in mid-life. These and other journeys are the inspiration for this new body of paintings.

The paintings have come in response and as a way through personal challenges related to Parkinson's Disease. Philip is known for his distinctive narrative portraits and this move into abstraction retains the sensuality and poetry of his previous work.
