Tim and Daniel have the same surname; Webby. It’s likely there is a familial connection but this is pure speculation. They hadn’t met prior to this exhibition.

Emil and Isobel have the same parents and also share the surname Dryburgh. They’ve known each for a while.

We weren’t really sure how the artists would respond to such a flimsy pretext. Not that the family name as marker is weightless, but it does little to draw connections or to frame.

Perhaps this is a form of curatorial honesty. No thematic links, but a place-holder simultaneously empty and over-determined. A common means for signifying incommensurate things.

Perhaps we ran out of time, and these people were free to show some work.
